Recognizing the importance of building a closer relationship with its audience, Grupo Juninho Araújo decided to transition from being part of a larger network to launching a proprietary, locally-focused brand. This strategic shift culminated in the launch of Rádio 98 Ipatinga on September 21, 2019.

The station primarily features popular hits from genres such as sertanejo, pagode, and prominent national artists, aiming to broadcast the most streamed songs across Brazil.
